Our history

In September 1969 Hobby Club Lisp - Lier was founded. Four years later two members took the initiative to start a plastic modelling section.  Thanks to the annual exhibition, held in the clubhouse, the number of members raised rapidly. And as a result it was decided to start a second section.  This section was called "Lisper Plastic Modellers" (LPM). The annual LPM exhibition was always well visited.

In 1990 it was decided that there was need for a bigger venue to hold the exhibition, which by now, had turned into a Modelling Show. Only two years later yet again this venue was too small, so the show was moved to the new cultural centre "De Mol" in Lier.
In 1992 "Lisper Plastic Modellers" joined IPMS (International Plastic Modellers Society) and was renamed "IPMS Lier".  In 2003 IPMS Lier decided not to remain a member of IPMS and changed it's name to "Modelbouwclub Lier". In 2012 Modelbouwclub Lier decided to change it's name to Belgian Scale Modellers Club.
